Situated just behind Kipepeo Beach, Kipepeo village is an ideal place to relax and enjoy nature. It's close proximity to town makes it an ideal place to recharge after a tough day in the hot and humid city nearby.
A quick dip in the ocean followed by a cool shower in your bungalow, then relax in the hammock on the balcony with an ice cold drink, and you will quickly forget the city only 9km away and all the problems and worries which you left there. You are now relaxed....POA.
To meet the high demand for quality accommodation at an affordable price the developers of the kipepeo beach camp embarked on a project to build 20 luxurious elevated beach huts. The task involved building the huts without upsetting the laid-back, and remote, atmosphere that made the place so popular amongst locals and foreigners alike.
All 20 bandas (swahili for hut) were built in the dense indigenous bush and elevated in order to ensure a stunning view of the sea and to take advantage of the cool ocean breezes. Each Banda has its own private bathroom, with hot and cold running water, and electricity. The bandas can be set up as twins (two singles), doubles, or family rooms.
The Kipepeo Beach Camp is situated at Mjimwema (a small fishing village), on the South Coast of Dar es Salaam, 9km from the Kigamboni Pontoon which links the City of Dar es Salaam to the South coast. The pontoon crosses the mouth of Dar es Salaam harbour, departing from Kivukoni, near the fish market ,and arriving in less than 5 minutes at Kigamboni.
From there you travel on a beautiful palm lined tarmac road through an area that is so undeveloped it seems that it has been forgotten by the city so close by. Within 9Km you will arrive at..........what are we doing?

General Hotel Information
In the evening when the wind drops to a gentle breeze, and the sun starts to set behind the Kipepeo Village the view from the balcony is simply stunning.
After a day of punishing glare from the scorching African sun, the evening sun seems to diffuse the light, bathing the surrounding bush in a cool relaxing tone.
Visible over the top of the dense African bush, the beach has taken on a cool bluish tone, the sea beyond a luster which completes the tranquil dream like trance which captivates you.
It seems that the creator of this paradise has suddenly said, "ok now its 'poa time', turn down the light, turn down the heat, turn down the noise, turn down the wind, get yourself a drink, lie in the hammock and just ........poa."
